Ardbeg

After slightly too relaxed a lunch stop....

We landed beside Ardbeg Distillery, where Tom sprinted through the distillery in his kayak gear and caught the bus back to Port Askaig to retrieve the car with just seconds to spare

A good excuse to stock up on more of the wonderful Ardbeg whisky, before dissembling the kayak, and starting to make our way home.

South Islay

Wind and tide conditions now in our favour, so we spent a few days paddling round the South Coast of Islay from Port Askaig back to Port Ellen

On the last night, our new midgeproof inner to our basha came into its own

Jura

Over to Jura, for a few days paddling in West Loch Tarbert

Wonderful views

Strange alien like circular patches in the raised beaches

Turbo Barbi-stove comes into its own as usual: great for making toast!

North Coast, Islay

We felt the wind and surf were likely to be a bit challenging for us, so we headed  off on bikes to explore the wonderful North Coast for a few days.

A few nights in the wilds

Then a lovely seafood feast in the Seafood Cabin at Skipness, before paddling back

Tarbert, Argyll

We assembled the K2 beside the sea in Tarbert, on Kintrye, before paddling south for few days to remind ourselves how sea kayaking worked!

Very nice to be back on the sea again
